Rep. Chaleski Speaks at ‘Day Without Childcare’ Rally, Meets with Parent Leaders, Advocates

Rallies were held across Connecticut, including outside Danbury Library, Wednesday to mark A Day Without Childcare. I was pleased to see many familiar faces at the event, many of whom are fellow graduates of the Parent Leadership Training Institute. Childcare providers are among the first educators for our children. An infusion of early investments and innovation to supporting early childcare will not only stabilize our local workforce but have long-lasting impacts on a child’s life and future success.

Rep. Chaleski Provides CT DOT Update About Route 39 Projects

Thank you to everyone who raised concerns recently about traffic and road flooding along Route 39. I’ve reached out to the Connecticut Department of Transportation to get some answers to your questions.

The traffic signal project on Clapboard Ridge Road at King Street is part of a larger, regional replacement project. Work at all intersections must be completed by June 6. CTDOT crews did have to test some soil this Winter and disposed of this Spring, but there is no designated staging area at

Bridge Deck Strip Patch Membrane Overlay (SPMO) Program on I-84 in Danbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a bridge deck strip patch membrane overlay project will begin on I-84 in Danbury on April 8, 2024. Depending on location, traffic patterns will be set at either 8:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. This project consists of the rehabilitation of eleven (11) bridges from Exits 3 to 7 on I-84 in Danbury. The project scope consists of milling, drainage upgrades, concrete deck repairs, and paving.
