    I would like to direct our veterans to the numerous discounts and free meals offered by companies and restaurants around the state on this day and throughout the year.

    Please note that you will be required to provide proof of your military service through some form of a ID, like a Military ID Card (active/reserve/retired), VA ID card,Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), DriversLicense with Veterans Designation, photograph in uniform, wearing your uniform (if your service permits), Veterans Organization Card (e.g., American Legion and VFW), DD Form 214, discharge paperwork, or another form of identification. Some restaurants and companies may go by the honor system, but I encourage you to call ahead and ask about their specific policies.
