The legislature’s Transportation Committee will hold a public hearing tomorrow, Feb. 11 at 12:30 p.m. in Room 2E of the Legislative Office Building.

The Transportation Committee will be hearing and reviewing 58 bills regarding various topics that the Committee oversees. The bills being heard include those concerning improvements to our rail system, roadways, and our overall quality of life. Included in this hearing are two bills I co-sponsored and one bill I introduced. I would like to know your thoughts on any or all of these bills and invite you to submit testimony.

House Bill No. 5932 AN ACT REQUIRING A GUARDRAIL ALONG ROUTE 154.

Senate Bill No. 483 AN ACT CONCERNING REDUCED FARE FOR VETERANS AND DISABLED INDIVIDUALS IN THE 9-TOWN TRANSIT DISTRICT.

Senate Bill No. 834 AN ACT CONCERNING THE 9-TOWN TRANSIT SYSTEM.

To find a list of all bills being heard tomorrow, please visit: http://www.cga.ct.gov/2015/tradata/pha/2015PHA00211-R001230TRA-PHA.htm

You can testify in person or in writing— please see the instructions below.

    HOW TO TESTIFY:

Please email written testimony in Word or PDF format to TRAtestimony@cga.ct.gov. Testimony should clearly state testifier name and related Bills. The Committee requests testimony be limited to matters related to the items on the Agenda.

The first hour of the hearing is reserved for Legislators, Constitutional Officers, State Agency Heads and Chief Elected Municipal Officials.

Speakers will be limited to three minutes of testimony.

The Committee encourages witnesses to submit a written statement and to condense oral testimony to a summary of that statement.

Unofficial sign-up sheets have no standing with the Committee.

All public hearing testimony, written and spoken, is public information. As such, it will be made available on the CGA website and indexed by internet search engines.

As always, feel free to contact my office if you have questions: 800-842-1423 or devin.carney@housegop.ct.gov.

Thank you for your time, I appreciate it.

    Sincerely,

    Devin Carney

Connecticut’s tourism industry brings in about $4 billion a year, and not surprisingly, our beautiful shoreline is one of the state’s top attractions. This afternoon, I had a chance to talk with Meri Wick, Owner of the The Captain Stannard and The Westbrook Inn Bed and Breakfast, to learn more about her locations and listen […]
