As a former student at Kathleen Goodwin, having an opportunity to come back here as part of Read Across America Day is always a little extra special to me. Following in their superhero theme, the book I chose to read this morning was ‘I Am Abraham Lincoln’ by Brad Meltzer. The story follows a young Abraham Lincoln through his presidency and how his belief in fairness and equality led to the end of slavery.
Thank you to Mrs. Spears, Mrs. Lamb, Mrs. Gage, and Mrs. Peace for welcoming me into your classrooms, and for all the preschoolers who listened attentively and shared your favorite superheroes with me.
