HARTFORD – Representative Devin Carney held legislative updates in each of the towns he represents throughout the month of January. Rep. Carney was accompanied by Rep. Jesse MacLachlan in Westbrook and Sen. Paul Formica in Old Lyme and Old Saybrook.

State Representative Devin Carney meets with Old Saybrook constituents during a legislative update on Tuesday, January 16th at Acton Public Library in Old Saybrook.

Before a group of constituents in the towns of Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook, Rep. Carney discussed major issues debated during the 2017 legislative session, aspects related to transportation including tolls, issues impacting seniors, the state of the budget, as well as proposals and bill ideas for the upcoming legislative session that is set to commence on Feb. 7.

Rep. Carney said, “I want to thank all those who took time out of their busy schedules to spend some time discussing pertinent issues with me. I will continue to take the concerns of the district up to the Capitol in an attempt to do what is best for our community and the state of Connecticut as a whole. Listening to the public is a critical component of this process and I always appreciate hearing from the people of the 23rd District.”

These legislative updates were well-attended and open to all constituents.

If anyone was unable to attend the legislative updates but would still like to speak with Rep. Carney, please do not hesitate to contact his office at (800) 842-1423 or at Devin.Carney@housegop.ct.gov and on the web at www.repcarney.com.
