Despite bipartisan opposition to HB-5002, a bill that takes a one-size-fits-all approach to address affordable housing, it still managed to pass both the House and Senate.
My hope is that with it now heading to the Governor’s office, Gov. Lamont will recognize taking this heavy-handed approach isn’t the right way to go about it.
While I support creating more housing opportunities, they must be decided locally, with your voice and the guidance of our local boards and commissions at the center of those conversations.
