Rep. Buchsbaum Participates in Read Across America Celebrations

State Representative Jason Buchsbaum celebrated Read Across America by visiting with students in Southbury and Roxbury. Pomperaug Elementary School chose the book titled “The World Needs More Purple People” by Kristen Bell and Benjamin Hart. He read to a 3rd grade class and to a 2nd Grade class.

After sharing a story with the students, they asked me thoughtful questions about the job of State Representative. Read Across America is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually around March 2nd with the goal of sharing the joy of reading and promoting early childhood literacy.
Rep. Buchsbaum then visited Booth Free School in Roxbury. He read “Duck for President” by Doreen Cronin to the entire school. The students asked great questions about the book and my job as State Representative, and I was happy to share this election story with them.
