NAUGATUCK –Rep. Seth Bronko, R-Naugatuck, recently visited several area schools as a guest reader for Read Across America week where he helped promote literacy and the joy of reading among students.

Rep. Bronko visited Maple Hill Elementary School and Hop Brook Elementary School for Read Across America week where he read “One Vote, Two Votes, I Vote, You Vote,” by Dr. Seuss to Mrs. Bisson’s first-grade class, Mrs. Thurston’s third-grade class and Mrs. Lisa Taft’s third-grade class.

The National Education Association launched Read Across America in 1998 as a year-round program to celebrate reading. Dr. Seuss’ birthday was March 2 and was declared Read Across America Day, which kicks off Read Across America Week and Read Across America Month.
