Connecticut’s largest business organization recently honored State Representative Craig Fishbein (R-90) for his perfect voting record on key bills impacting Connecticut’s economic growth and business climate during the 2019 legislative session.

The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) ranked all state lawmakers based on their support for the business community’s positions on 10 important policies. The bills all affect job creation, small business growth and economic stability in Connecticut.

Bridge Maintenance/Rt. 15, Wallingford/North Haven – Aug. 12- Sept. 13

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will be performed on the Wilbur Cross Parkway (Route 15) north and south in Wallingford and North Haven, Monday, August 12, through Friday, September 13, 2019.

 

The project consists of concrete repairs on Bridges #03828, #03829 (Route 40 underpass), Bridge #00787 (Hartford Turnpike underpass), Bridge #00792 (Route 1 underpass) & Bridge #00796 (Yale Avenue underpass) in Wallingford and North Haven.

First Responders Eligible for Tax Abatement

This year, Public Act 19-36, An Act Increasing the Property Tax Abatement for Certain First Responders, increased the maximum property tax abatement municipalities may, by ordinance, provide to certain active and retired volunteer emergency personnel, including firefighters.

The measure became effective July 1st.
