Rep. Labriola Supports Efforts to Enhance Public Safety and Victims’ Rights in the Juvenile Justice System

Rep. David Labriola (R-131) stood Wednesday in the House Chamber to voice his support for an amendment – which he co-introduced – to H.B. 7050 concerning the Juvenile Justice System.

“The bipartisan effort behind this legislation brought balance to the bill,” Rep. Labriola said. “I was therefore pleased to support this progressive policy because it ensures public safety, protects victims and promotes proper treatment of accused juveniles.”

State Reps. David Labriola and Rosa Rebimbas presented legislative citations to essay winners Karissa Moore and Samantha Valentine, from Cross St. Intermediate School, and NeHa Samuel, from Hillside Middle School. The theme of the essay contest, sponsored by the General Assembly, was to describe an “Important Woman in Connecticut History.” Moore wrote about Denise L. Nappier, Valentine wrote about Joan Joyce, and Samuel wrote about Isabella Beecher Hooker.
