More than 50 people came to the Waterbury Senior Center to listen as State Reps. Tony D’Amelio and Stephanie Cummings held office hours to discuss the recently-ended 2018 legislative session and to answer questions from the audience.
After a brief recap of the session, the legislators answered questions for more than an hour. The topics varied but mostly focused on fiscal matters, including the state budget, the deficit, state employee retirement funds, education funding and car taxes, among others. They also discussed the recent uptick of local crime and what could be done at the state level to assist the Waterbury Police.
