DOT Announces Milling and Resurfacing on Route 3 in Cromwell

I would like to notify you about a project the CT Department of Transportation recently announced. A milling and resurfacing project will begin on Route 3 in Cromwell next week. Work is expected to begin next Tuesday, July 28th with the milling portion scheduled to conclude Monday, August 10th. The resurfacing portion in Cromwell is scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 8, 2015 and conclude Tuesday, September 15, 2015. 

Expect lane closures along Route 3 starting at the Route 372 junction in Cromwell to the Route 160 (New Britain Avenue) junction in Rocky Hill from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday evenings).

Please plan your travel accordingly as delays are expected.

Nighttime Milling and Resurfacing Project, Route 3 in Rocky Hill and Cromwell and Route 160 in Rocky Hill. 

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 3 in Rocky Hill and Cromwell and Route 160 in Rocky Hill.  

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.36 mile segment of Route 3 in Rocky Hill and Cromwell and Route 160 in Rocky Hill.  The milling segment of this project is scheduled to occur on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 to Monday, August 10, 2015.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, August 16, 2015 to Thursday, September 3, 2015 in Rocky Hill and on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 to Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in Cromwell. 

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2015 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 3 beginning at Route 372 to the north junctions of Route 160 (New Britain Avenue) in Cromwell and Rocky Hill.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday evenings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
