CROMWELL-State Rep. Christie Carpino, along with Mayor Faienza and Councilmen Spotts and Emanuele, welcomed Safelite AutoGlass to Cromwell and attended a ribbon cutting ceremony that the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce helped to coordinate.

Additionally, Carpino and others were given a tour of the new facility, which housing 18,000 pieces of glass and serves all of Connecticut and western Massachusetts, and received a firsthand look at how the Safelite technicians replace a windshield from one of its customer’s vehicles.

Carpino spoke with Safelite Vice President of Legislative Affairs Scot Zajic and the Jamie Donais the District Manager of Sales and Operations of the new Cromwell facility. The discussed Safelite’s commitments to both the environment by recycling tons of glass from windshields annually, as well as their commitment to the community as they will encourage employees to volunteer their time locally.

“Cromwell’s location continues to be a draw for new businesses. Safelite is both adding jobs and a much needed service for local residents by offering mobile glass repair,” said Rep. Carpino.

After the Safelite tour, Carpino and the Cromwell officials continued on a listening tour that brought them to 3 additional businesses in town.
