Carpino: DOT Bridge Maintenance, Rt. 66 over the CT River & Rt. 9 in Middletown/Portland (Arrigoni Bridge) & Joint and Crack Seal Work on Route 9 in Cromwell

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing two projects that will impact local commuters in Portland and Cromwell.

There will be a nighttime bridge maintenance project performed on Rte. 66 EB and WB over CT River & Rte. 9 in Middletown/Portland (Arrigoni Bridge). This project is scheduled to occur from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 to the morning of Thursday, July 18, 2014. 

 LANE CLOSURE INFO

  • Motorists can expect lane closures on Rte. 66 EB and WB over CT River & Rte. 9 in Middletown/Portland between Main St. in Middletown and Rte. 17 in Portland. Traffic control personnel, local police and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday evenings).

There will also be a Joint and Crack Seal Project, Route 9 in Cromwell. The project consists of Joint and Crack Sealing on a 3.10 mile segment from the underpass of Route 372 (West St.) to the Northbound access from I-91 Southbound in Cromwell.  This project is scheduled to occur Monday, July 7, 2014 to Thursday, July 10, 2014.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 9 between the underpass of Rte. 372 (West St) to NB access from I-91 SB.  Traffic control personnel, signing pattern, and truck mounted attenuator will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
