“There is no place for this type of hatred and these acts of cowardice in our country. My heart goes out to the victims and all the families touched by the tragedy in Charlottesville. I thank the police officers and public servants who put their lives on the line and the peaceful protesters who stood up to this evil. My fear is that the political rhetoric will heighten and further divide our society but my hope is that our country will come together in unity.”
