(HARTFORD) — Today, I was proud to cosponsor and support a bill to study implementing mandatory public comment periods at public meetings. Public comment helps inform the debate process and acts as a check on elected and appointed officials. A great injustice is done when the public’s voices are stifled or silenced because of a lack of a meaningful public comment opportunities. I am thrilled that this proposal passed unanimously and hope that it will help improve transparency at all levels of government in Connecticut!
