Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Today I joined “Brian and Company” on WTIC Newstalk 1080to discuss House Bill 5167 – “An Act Concerning Property Tax Abatement for First-Time Homebuyers.” In my proposal, I offer first-time homebuyers a $500 municipal tax abatement who apply for a loan through the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) for up to the first five years of home-ownership.
Last session, my bill found success in the House, but was put on hold in the Senate because of session deadlines. This year, I am happy to announce its recent success in the Planning and Development Committee and look forward to it heading the Governor’s desk later this year.
