During our Finance Committee meeting, I made it clear that raising revenue by raising taxes is not a smart way to budget for years to come. Right now, our state budget is protected by “fiscal guardrails” that prevent overspending and help pay down debt. Unfortunately, my colleagues on the other side of the aisle want to spend BEYOND these guardrails; and where will they find the money? MORE TAXES.
Just like eating junk food, we have to avoid these BAD HABITS in order to create a more affordable and sustainable state for families and businesses to thrive.
