Today, lawmakers had the opportunity to pass an amendment that would have fully funded special education costs while also balancing a stable budget. Sadly, the “fiscal guardrails” that keep our budget balanced were rejected by the majority party, after they created a funding account outside of the oversight of our budget process. Our students and residents deserve more transparency and fiscal responsibility.
