    Dear Friends and Neighbors,

As your state representative, I will always fight for East Haven’s best interests, especially if I see bill proposals that might impact our residents’ rights to share their voice — especially on the expansion of Tweed Airport.

Today, I proudly testified in opposition of House Bill 5330 “An Act Concerning the Recommendations of the Department of Transportation”, In my testimony, I highlighted how this bill could undermine or eliminate a key public hearing hurdle that Tweed might have to clear with the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP).

As Mayor Joseph Carfora indicated in his written testimony, we insist that the public hearing requirement be preserved, particularly with respect to airport projects. I also reminded members of the committee that there are 900 people who submitted testimony to the FAA on the proposed expansion at Tweed (and a great many others) who have A LOT more to say about the environmental and quality of life impacts of the proposed expansion.
