Zawistowski Takes Oath of Office

HARTFORD—State Representative Tami Zawistowski (R-61) was sworn in as the 2017 session of the Connecticut General Assembly officially got under way. Zawistowski will continue representing Suffield, East Granby, and part of Windsor at the Capitol.
“It is an honor to be serving as State Representative of the 61st District for a third term” said Zawistowski. “I am humbled that my community has continued to put their trust in me to represent them in Hartford. This legislative session will be crucial in revitalizing Connecticut’s economy and I am eager to get started.”
Representative Zawistowski has also been appointed to three legislative committees. For the 2017-2019 legislative session, Zawistowski has been awarded the position of Ranking Member for the House Republican Caucus on the Planning and Development Committee. She will also serve on the Appropriations and Transportation Committees.
“I am particularly honored to serve as Ranking Member on the Planning and Development Committee” Zawistowski noted. “It puts me in a position to make effective changes to issues tied to local governments, housing, urban renewal, planning and zoning, economic development, and regional planning. I will continue to work with our community leaders to develop an effective strategy for the state to follow.”
The 2017 regular legislative session is scheduled to run from January 4th to June 7th.
