EAST GRANBY — State Rep. Tami Zawistowski was among the many people who turned out recently to congratulate Lucas Bilodeau at his Eagle Scout Court of Honor.
To earn his prestigious honor, Bilodeau planned, organized and executed the construction of “Little Free Libraries” that were installed in retirement communities in East Granby. The libraries provide partial library services to members of the retirement communities. He led work teams of volunteers, including scouts and friends.
Zawistowski provided Bilodeau with a special citation from the Connecticut General Assembly in recognition of his impressive effort.
The ceremony held at the East Granby Senior Center featured a Presentation of Colors by the Troop 70 Honor Guard as well as troop highlights and awards for members.
Bilodeau earned a total of 23 merit badges en route to becoming an Eagle Scout. He has held the positions of assistant senior patrol leader, instructor, and scribe.
First Selectman James Hayden presented an award from the local Lions Club.
