Reps. Zawistowski and Storms Participate in Wreaths Across America

WINDSOR – State Representatives Tami Zawistowski (R-61) and Scott Storms (R-60) took part in the annual Wreaths Across America remembrance ceremony at the Windsor Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, December 15th.
“While those of us who have not served in our military can never truly understand the experiences of our veterans – or the depth of their sacrifices – we can offer our sincere thanks and honor those who have put the defense of our country ahead of their own self-interest,” said Rep. Zawistowski. “We need to remember their service, their willingness to sacrifice, and their commitment to protect us all.”
Rep. Storms shared, “Through the Wreaths for America Program, we are able to recognize the substantial contributions and sacrifices of our veterans laid to rest in our local veteran cemeteries, and we also express our thanks and appreciation to all those who have served and are serving in our armed forces. To all our veterans and their families, thank you for your service and for all that you have done and continue to do for our state and our country.”
Wreaths Across America was started in 1992 as a way to honor deceased service men and women by placing wreaths at their grave sites in Arlington National Cemetery, it grew to a nationwide effort in 2005. For more information about the program and how to help visit: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.
