Reps. Zawistowski and Davis Tour Baronet Coffee Roasters

WINDSOR – State Representatives Tami Zawistowski (R-61) and Christopher Davis (R-57) toured Baronet Coffee Roasters with Vice President of Sales Mark Marino and Director of Supply Chain Management Alex Goldsmith.

The company was started in 1930 by Dave Baron in Hartford and recently moved to a larger facility in Windsor in 2016. The company has been owned by the Goldsmith family since 1947 with third and fourth generation family members now working at the company. The family first entered the coffee business in 1918 as Manhattan Coffee & Sugar, operating a fleet of coffee trucks. In 2008 they were named Family Business of the Year by UCONN. The company is also a Board Member of the National Coffee Association alongside major manufacturers such as Starbucks.

Rep. Zawistowski commented, “I met them at the Made in Connecticut expo at the Capitol and wanted to learn more about their manufacturing process. The company expertly roasts top quality coffees with beans sourced from all over the world. At the end of the tour we also enjoyed what was probably the best coffee I’ve ever had, brewed with freshly roasted beans in a pressurized coffee system.”

The company roasts coffee for retail and wholesale customers in addition to co-manufacturing for other brands as well. In 2004 they entered the single serve coffee pods market for offices and hospitality businesses.
