    Dear Friends & Neighbors,

     

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation recently shared an announcement regarding milling and resurfacing on Route 159 in Suffield that could impact your commute.  

     

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 159 in Suffield, beginning Tuesday, August 20, 2019.

     

    The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.94 mile segment of Rte. 159 in Suffield from the Windsor Locks town line to Route 190.

     

    This project is scheduled to occur on or about Tuesday, August 20, to Friday September 6, 2019.

    This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2019 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

     

    LANE CLOSURE INFO:

     

    Motorists can expect delays and one lane alternating Traffic.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday)

     

    Paving will be day work 9/02/19 to 9/06/19.  Scheduled hours of day work will be 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (Monday through Friday)

     

    Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
