Windsor Locks – State Representatives Tami Zawistowski (R-61) and Scott Storms (R-60) toured the Honda facility on Old County Road off of route 20. The tour was led by Zone Sales Manager Gerard Harrington and Zone Manager for Parts and Service Operations Geoffrey Aldarelli. The facility serves multiple purposes for Honda including corporate offices, a training center and a logistics hub. The training and distribution center has over 100 employees and 50 contract employees serving 153 auto dealers, 109 motorcycle dealers and 448 power equipment dealers throughout New England and upstate New York. The management team shared their concerns about doing business in Connecticut. The primary challenges are the regulatory environment and attracting employees to this facility in comparison with other Honda facilities around the country. Since opening in 1983 Honda has remained committed to this location and completed a major expansion in 2010. Both representatives have been touring and meeting with employers throughout the region and expressed their continued support for regulatory reform and fiscal stability.
