Delivering Valentines to First Responders

For the third year, State Rep Tami Zawistowski collected dozens of adorable Valentine’s Day cards from students at the A. Ward Spaulding School and distributed them to Suffield Police, Suffield Fire, and Emergency Medical Technicians in town to thank them for their continued commitment and service to the community.
Some of the cards were hand made, others included jokes, pictures, and personal “thank yous” from the students. Several were created to specifically recognize the Suffield Public School Security Officers the kids said keep them safe and greet them each morning on the way into school.
Presenting the cards at the school were second graders Owen Szmigel, Serena Costello, Nixon Bennett, Viviana Vivenxio, Teagan Barrows, and kindergartner Cole Sheldon. Suffield Public School Security Officers Phil Mugford, Jeff Beiler and Chad Rypysc, and Suffield Police Officers Randy Roman, Alex Scata and Capt. Robert Palmer accepted the cards on behalf of their department.
Rep. Zawistowski delivered the cards to Suffield Police Sgt. Justin Fuller, Chief James Canin and Capt. Robert Palmer, then to Fire Chief Scott Cunningham and Fire Commissioner Paul Christian, and Suffield Volunteer Ambulance Association’s trainee Zack Bugli, EMT Jackie Ellis, and paramedic Robert Edmonds.
