As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I am proud to join my House and Senate Republican colleagues in offering a balanced proposal to close the projected $321 million dollar deficit in 2019. We make long term investments to pay down our debt, balance the special transportation fund, stay revenue neutral and set priorities for government. Check out a summary of the proposal online at www.cthousegop.com/budgetfy19.

    Key Recommendations:

    • Balance the 2019 Fiscal Year Budget
    • Balance the Special Transportation Fund
    • Dedicate more dollars toward paying down unfunded liabilities to the Teachers Retirement Fund and State Employees Retirement Fund
    • Eliminate Funding to expand the CTFastrak busway to UCONN
    • Make managerial and overtime reductions at state agencies
    • Reduce funding for specified accounts by 5-7%, cuts were not made to vital services for vulnerable populations
    • Downsize Government though public-private partnerships and reducing the number of deputy commissioners
    • Eliminate planned fee increases of $20 million
    • Enact recommendations from the Commission on Fiscal Stability and Economic Growth
