HARTFORD – State Representative Donna Veach (R-30) has been reappointed Ranking Member of the General Assembly’s Internship Committee for the 2025-2027 legislative session by House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora (R-86).

A Ranking Member is the designated leader from the minority party on a committee. Each committee has a House and Senate ranking member. Individuals who serve in this role are responsible for communicating to their caucuses details about bills voted out of committees.

“It is an honor to have been appointed the ranking member of the legislature’s Internship Committee for the next two years,” Rep. Veach said. “I take great pride and enjoyment from working with our college students who are interested in state government while also fostering their desire to use this experience to take an active role in shaping it upon their graduation.”

Established in 1969, the purpose of the Internship Committee is to familiarize college students with both the formal and informal aspects of the legislative process. Students involved in the program gain first-hand experience in public service through their time in the legislative offices while earning academic credit for their work.

Rep. Veach’s reassignment will take effect on Wednesday, January 8th at the start of the next legislative term.

Today, these spaces have been transformed into vibrant community gathering spaces for people of all ages. Yesterday, I had a chance to tour the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library and see the evolution that […]
