HARTFORD – State Representative Donna Veach (R-30) in cooperation with the American Legion Post 68 in Berlin, are sponsoring a drop box at the town hall to collect any worn, faded, or tattered American flags for a proper retirement ceremony that will take place on Flag Day. The collection will run through Tuesday, June 13.

The U.S. Flag Code specifies that the flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning. All flags collected during this time will be brought to the American Legion Post 68 located at 154 Porters Pass in Kensington for a retirement ceremony to be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 5:00 p.m.
