Camp Sloper Follow-up Visit

On Friday, I met with Mark Pooler, Southington-Cheshire YMCA Chief Executive Officer, Justin Hubeny, Camp Director, and Dave Donnelly, Grant Writer, to continue discussions we had this summer on various projects the camp was looking to undertake and ways they can obtain state grants/additional funding to help offset some of the costs.

I was amazed to see the footing for the new bathroom and changing room has already begun along with some initial dredging the pond requires for it to remain usable. In addition to the work already underway, plans to install a splash, new camp office/infirmary/nurses’ office to replace the current building being used are also in their pipeline of projects.

Thanks to Mark, Justin and Dave for sitting down with me to highlight the camp’s most pressing needs and how I may be able to assist them in reaching their goals.
