Hartford, Conn.— State Representative Tony Scott (R-112) welcomed 8th grade students from Jockey Hollow Middle School to Hartford this month. He met with the teens at the Connecticut Supreme Court building across from the State Capitol Building, which houses the Museum of CT History.
“The students were curious about how the legislature works and asked great questions. I told them that even though they’re not 18, they have a voice,” said Scott. “I shared a story of a Masuk teen who couldn’t take his driving test because he wore biopic telescopic lenses due to Juvenile Macular Degeneration. Over 30 states allow their use, but CT didn’t. He spoke up, and working with him, we were able to pass life-changing legislation. I encouraged the students to reach out with any issues so we can enact change together.”
