TRUMBULL-State Reps. David Rutigliano (R-123), Ben McGorty (R-122) and Tony Scott (R-112) concluded a successful Restock the Shelves Food Drive last weekend to benefit the Trumbull Food Pantry and in-need Trumbull families.

“I’m thankful for the generosity of those in our community who came out to help their neighbors facing food insecurity,” said Rep. Scott.

“Thank you to all those who helped out and participated. It is always heartwarming to see the amazing sense of community throughout Trumbull,” said Rep. Rutigliano.

The Trumbull lawmaking trio were able to collect (3) three shopping carts of food in the two hours they stood outside the Trumbull Stop and Shop. The aim of the Food Drive was to restock the Trumbull Food Pantry shelves after once the holidays were over and as the winter temperatures begin to plunge.

The food pantry is always in need of non-food items, like, laundry detergent, dish soap and hygiene products, and shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, deodorant. Here is a full list of needs for the Trumbull Food Pantry.

Additionally, monetary donations or gift cards are appreciated. Checks can be made payable to The Trumbull Food Pantry (Please do NOT mail cash) and mailed to: TRUMBULL FOOD PANTRY – 23 Priscilla Place – Trumbull, CT 06611.
