HARTFORD – In time for the beginning of the school year, starting Sunday Aug. 21, the state’s 6.35% sales tax on clothing and footwear will be dropped for purchases that are less than $100.
Jewelry, handbags, luggage, umbrellas, watches and similar items are not included. Tax Free week continues until Aug. 27.
