Hartford, CT. – Today, Rep. Tony Scott (R-112) joined his colleagues and advocates in introducing the End Homelessness Caucus.
I’m proud to support this new coalition. I’m always asked the question, why am I here? And one of the reasons why is to help those that need the most, the most vulnerable. If you’re not here to help those folks, what are we doing as a legislator? We’re here year after year, asking for money, and not just one time funding for services, but we need to have it annually in the budget for going forward. The Housing Committee last year passed $50 million out of the committee unanimously. This is not a partisan issue, it’s a Connecticut issue. We need as many voices as possible so we can send a message to the governor and to the Appropriations Committee that this has to happen now, and we don’t have to have another press conference next year to have the same conversation.
