Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to my recent legislative survey. You were generous with your time and your comments provided thoughtful insight to our state’s critical issues. As we begin the 2022 legislative session today, I wanted to share with you some of those responses.
The results should be no surprise to the people of our state who have felt the increasing burden of higher and higher taxes.
Many of you said you are facing increases in the cost of living, while Connecticut has failed to address its affordability problem. Importantly, almost 60% of those who responded said they don’t believe that Connecticut is going in the right direction. We need to change that.
My fellow House Republicans and I face an uphill battle as we work to hold the line on new taxes, limit the governor’s executive orders and reduce government spending, but we are up for the fight.
