NEWTOWN – For any residents who would like to respectfully retire their worn or frayed U.S. flags, Rep. Tony Scott (R-112) along with State Reps. Mitch Bolinksy (R-106), Raghib Allie-Brennan (D-2) and State Senator Tony Hwang (R-28) in cooperation with Newtown VFW Post #308 and Mighty Scout Troop #270 will collect them from noon to 2 p.m. on June 12 at the C.H. Booth Library in Newtown.

Prior to that date, the Newtown state legislative delegation will have two separate drop-off locations for worn flags.

    Drop off locations are:

Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street, Newtown

Those collection sites will be in place from May 21 through June 13, just before Flag Day on June 14, and will serve as a location to retire used flags.
