Monroe Farmers’ Market has been awarded $4,150 from the Connecticut Department of Agriculture’s 2024 Agricultural Enhancement Grant Program, previously known as the Farm Viability Grant!
The grant will be used to engage and educate kids under 12, and to introduce customers to the products of farmers/vendors through complimentary tastings in a Tasting Tent Program. They’ll also create a paid position to oversee and run the programming.
The Agricultural Enhancement Grant is a matching grant program for Connecticut municipalities, groups of municipalities, regional councils of governments and agricultural non-profit organizations for projects that directly impact and/or foster agricultural viability.
