Trumbull Legislators, Residents Learn About Lowering Their Electric Bills

TRUMBULL- State Reps. David Rutigliano (R-123), Laura Devlin (R-134), Ben McGorty (R-122) and State Senator Marilyn Moore (D-22) held an informational workshop about lowering their residential electric bill.
“This was a great opportunity to provide useful information to Trumbull constituents and electric ratepayers regarding their monthly billing statement,” said Rep. Rutigliano. “We received tremendous feedback from residents on the forum.”
Rep. Devlin said, “The goal of the workshop was to empower electric consumers with the information they need to make an informed decision about their generation supply rates and whether to choose a licensed supplier or remain with their current standard service generation supply, United Illuminating.”
“You can’t make good decisions about your electric carrier if you don’t have good information,” said Rep. McGorty. “This forum was a great opportunity to come out and learn about the various options available to consumers.”
The Trumbull Legislative Delegation had rate specialists from Connecticut’s Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) come down to the Trumbull Senior Center and guide residents through the process of reading and understanding their electric bill.
