HARTFORD- State Rep. David Rutigliano (R-Trumbull) visited the 4th graders at Daniels Farm School last week after some of the students sent his legislative office letters on banning exotic pets in Connecticut.

A few months ago, 4th grade students wrote Rep. Rutigliano asking him to support legislation which would ban exotic pets in Connecticut and invited him to come speak to the class about this topic and other about state and local government issues

Rep. Rutigliano thanked Ms. Littlefield’s class for taking the time to write on this state topic of exotic pets and was glad to see our youth so civically engaged.

“I would have to agree with these smart 4th graders, these animals are better served by being left alone in the wild; Personally, Connecticut has seen first-hand the tragic things that can happen when people keep exotic animals as pets,” said Rep. Rutigliano.
