DERBY- State Rep. David Rutigliano (R-123) the Ranking Member on General Law attended the CT Heating & Cooling Contractors Association’s (CHCC) Trade Show and “Pints & Politics” Hour at The Hops Company in Derby.

Rep. Rutigliano participated in a small panel with legislative colleagues speaking on the issues of workforce development and education for the trades.  The discussion included a Q&A with the HVAC contractors, vendors, tech school students and others in attendance.

“I enjoyed viewing the latest and greatest industry trends, technologies, products, and services in HVAC. We are always asking ‘what can we as lawmakers can do to help and not hinder your industry’,” said Rep. Rutigliano. “There is a real need for educational opportunities and alternatives to traditional college for young people. These industries are in desperate need for workers and offer excellent pay for the work.

The General Law committee is the legislature’s committee of cognizance over the occupational licensing of Heating & Cooling Contractors and most other state industries.
