TRUMBULL – On Saturday morning, State Reps. David Rutigliano (R-123) and Ben McGorty (R-122) met with Trumbull residents for a coffee hour at the Next Chapter Books, Trumbull’s Student-Run Community Bookstore and Coffee Shop.

Both Reps. Rutigliano and McGorty listened to questions and concerns on a wide array of state issues from those that attended.

“I want to thank everyone who came and participated in our chat,” said Rep. Rutigliano. “We heard important feedback on a variety of topics and will take these messages back to the State Capitol. Concerns about inflation, preventing overdevelopment, and opposition to the ban on sales of gas-powered cars are shared by members of neighboring communities as well. I hope we can address these issues and more in the upcoming session.”

With the new legislative session set to begin on February 7th, the legislators wanted to hear possible ideas on proposed legislation. Under the joint rules of the General Assembly the deadline for submission of proposed bills is 5:00pm on Friday, February 9th.

For anyone who is unable to attend but would like to talk to their legislators, please call their State Capitol office at 1.800.842.1423 or email them at Dave.Rutigliano@housegop.ct.gov and Ben.McGorty@housegop.ct.gov.
