Rutigliano & Hwang Cut Ribbon/ Applaud Groundbreaking

TRUMBULL — State Reps. Dave Rutigliano (123) an Tony Hwang (134) were a few of Trumbull’s elected officials present at Friday’s opening of a new parking garage, and ground breaking of a new medical office building at Bridgeport Hospital, Park Avenue Campus, Trumbull.
The 450-space parking garage opened for the ceremony, and the 120,000-square foot medical office building is expected to open in the spring of 2016.
“This opening is fantastic for the town of Trumbull,” said Rutigliano. “It’s also great for Bridgeport, Easton and Fairfield,” he said.
Hwang said, “This state of the art medical outpatient center will be the model of community based healthcare and the ideal location of close access to the Merritt Parkway and the 4 corners of Fairfield, Bridgeport, Trumbull and Easton – Bridgeport Hospital will serve it’s critical role of providing healthcare services to our regional area. It is also important to recognize this center will create jobs and a more vibrant healthcare economy in our community.”
When completed, the Bridgeport Hospital Park Avenue Campus will have parts close to all four towns. The new parking garage is in Bridgeport.
The new medical office building will offer many services, including radiation, oncology, and chemotherapy through Bridgeport Hospital and Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven.
Local residents will no longer have to travel far to get the care they need, Rutigliano said
In fall 2012, the Trumbull Radiation Oncology Center opened at the Park Avenue Campus.
