Rep. Rutigliano Gets Demonstration of Makerbot Replicator

Trumbull– Rep. Dave Rutilgliano (R-123) attended an open house at the Fairchild Nichols Library in Trumbull to showcase the new MakerBot Replicator 2 3D printer that is available for Trumbull residents. The library and Trumbull school system have formed a collaborative partnership to allow students to explore the possibilities of this new technology.
“This machine is a great opportunity for kids to learn about some of the technologies that will be used in the future,” Rep. Rutilgliano said. “The future of manufacturing and technology exist in programs such as this that allow for great innovation and creativity.”
The printer was installed as part of a new room called Creators’ Corner which is designed as a space for invention and exploration. The 3D printer is designed to allow for people of all ages to use for both practical and creative uses. The MakerBot Replicator 2 has a 100 micron layer resolution and a 410 cubic inch build volume which allows for detailed creations.
To see a demonstration of the 3D Printer or for hands on time with it you can fill out and return the application form that is available below and return the form at a Public Service Desk.
