    Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Connecticut is growing more unaffordable by the day. An economic report released last week revealed that consumer prices in May went up 8.6%, a new 40-year high. The Core Consumer Price Index (CPI), which excludes food and energy, also soared to over 6%. As inflation surges, my Republican colleagues and I are fighting for additional relief. As prices rise, so do your taxes paid on necessities like energy, food, goods & services. These inflation-driven revenues should be returned to the taxpayers.

Earlier this month, I joined my colleagues to call for a special session to adopt nearly $750 million in additional relief for Connecticut residents, including tax cuts and energy assistance to ease the burden on working- and middle- class residents.

Join us as we host a Rally for An Affordable Connecticut in Niantic on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 5:00pm – 6:00pm at the intersection of Routes 25 and 111.

During this period, most clothing and footwear items priced under $100 per item can be purchased tax‑exempt, saving buyers the state’s usual 6.35% sales tax when the item is paid for during that week, even if delivery happens later.
