Hartford – A group of students from Woodbury and surrounding towns toured the State Capitol, where they were welcomed by State Representative Karen Reddington-Hughes (R-Woodbury), who represents the 66th District.
“I’d like to thank Thea Alfes from Woodbury for organizing this tour for such an engaged group of students. They had the opportunity to learn about the history of the Capitol and the state lawmaking process. I encouraged them to reach out to me with any ideas that could positively impact our state and community,” said Reddington-Hughes, a member of the legislature’s Education Committee.
The Connecticut General Assembly’s 2025 Regular Session began on January 8 and will adjourn on June 4. This visit provided students with firsthand insight into the legislative process during an active session.
