In response to several local and statewide human-bear interactions, State Representative Karen Reddington-Hughes (R-66), announced she is hosting a Bear Safety and Awareness Forum with Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Wildlife Biologist Jason Hawley.
The first forum will be held on August 1st in Woodbury. Representative Reddington-Hughes anticipates holding future forums in Litchfield and Bethlehem.
Human-bear interactions continue to occur despite our best efforts to discourage them. Join us for an informational meeting on growing bear populations in Connecticut, awareness and safety, and legislation presented in the State Legislature to help combat this ongoing issue.
