State Reps. Karen Reddington-Hughes (R-66) and Cindy Harrison (R-69) joined EdAdvance at their Litchfield office for the official announcement that the US Dept. of Education approved and fully funded their grant application for School-Based Mental Health services.

This incredible grant opportunity, $8.7 million over five years, will allow EdAdvance to place mental health professionals in 30 schools across northwestern CT, and they have already begun working with school districts and recruiting professionals to serve in these roles.  These funds will be used over the next 5 years for the JOY program that will aid in reducing bullying, chronic absenteeism and behavioral problems. 15 new positions will be servicing 30 different schools. All 5 schools in our district will be included!

Construction on a new facility is scheduled for this spring.
