Litchfield FFA Students Visit Capitol

HARTFORD – Wednesday was an exciting and inspiring day at the Capitol as we celebrated Agriculture Day! It was a true honor for Rep. Reddington-Hughes to greet the talented and hardworking FFA students from Lakeview High School. Their passion and dedication to the future of agriculture were truly evident as they shared their experiences and insights with us.
A special shoutout to Elyse Manyak, the Head of the Agriculture Science and Technology Education Program, for coordinating this incredible trip. Thanks to her efforts, lawmakers had the unique opportunity to learn more about the profound impact agriscience programs have on Connecticut students.
Agriculture education plays a crucial role in providing valuable career opportunities and helping students gain practical skills that will serve them well in the future. These programs are not only shaping the next generation of farmers but also preparing students for a wide range of careers in science, technology, and sustainable agriculture.
“I’m grateful to the FFA students and Elyse for their dedication to enriching Connecticut’s agricultural community and for providing us with a deeper understanding of the importance of supporting agriscience education,” said Reddington-Hughes.
Let’s continue to support these incredible programs that are fostering the leaders of tomorrow.
