HARTFORD – Agriculture Day took place at the State Capitol on Wednesday, March 20, allowing Vo-Ag students from across the state to showcase their talents and have an opportunity to meet with state lawmakers. State Representative Karen Reddington-Hughes met with Bethlehem’s Jared McCool as he was recognized as Connecticut’s Outstanding Young Farmer. McCool is part of Steadfast Farm, which focuses on the raising of game birds including Northern Bobwhite Quail, Chukar Partridge, Chinese Ringneck Pheasant, and Pigeons. “I commend Jared for his work within the agriculture industry. He has a bright future ahead of him and encompasses the passion and drive needed to succeed as a farmer in Connecticut. I wish him well with his future endeavors,” said Reddington-Hughes.
